Many companies call themselves international but we wanted to open the concept from Smarp’s perspective.
English as the official working language:
It’s true that our headquarters is located in Helsinki and that we were founded in Finland but we have always had an international mindset. As our product is not country or language specific, we targeted the international markets from the get go. This goes both with our customers as well as with our employees.
From internal perspective, everything at Smarp happens in English. Our mentality has always been to hire the best suited people for the roles with English as the only language requirement - there are just a couple of minor exceptions from this with roles that might require some other languages.
Over 20 different nationalities:
When we say that everything at Smarp happens in English, we really mean it. As we have over 20 different nationalities, all meetings, all documentation, all everything is done with using English. We don’t require native level skills but decent communication skills are needed.
We feel very privileged to be working in such a multicultural environment!
Opportunity to learn new things and ways:
Having people with different nationalities and backgrounds gives us huge opportunities to learn new ways of thinking and doing. It challenges in a good way, sometimes even helps us to think outside the box and create something better. Together we are stronger!
Thinking about relocating to Finland? We got you covered!
For our technical roles we offer a relocation package for people who would move to Finland to work with us. This package includes support and sponsorship with the residence permit for the new employee and their immediate family (spouse and kids), flight tickets to Helsinki, accommodation for the first month as well as some smaller things to help you settle into Helsinki and to make the move a bit easier.
